Since 2006 Jennifer Bishop’s School of Dance (JBSD) has been both, a non-competitive and competitive (Performing Arts Company Competition Team) studio located in Alton, Illinois

JBSD offers experienced, youthful instructors, some of which are currently dancing professionally in the St. Louis area.  JBSD prides itself on not only helping your dancer grow in technique, but also as a self-confident, compassionate and responsible student in a fun and safe environment.  We promote positive body image, academics Excellence outside of dance class with our Jennifer BIshop’s School of Dance Academic Excellence Recognition Program (J.A.E.R.P.). We like to recognize our students that work hard not only in the dance classroom but in the academic classroom. Members of our J.A.E.R.P must maintain an “A” average durning the dance year. JBSD also understand the importance of volunteering in our community. We have volunteered for The Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, The Riverbend Humane Society, Stuff the Bus for the Alton School District, Junior League of Greater Alton, Holiday food drive, Nursing home Christmas card project, and the Angel Tree Network.

At JBSD we have a combined 75 plus years of teaching experience. Our teachers grew up dancing, studied dance in college, danced professionally and presently dance professionally.

Our teachers continue their commitment to the studio and our dancers by attending regional and national dance competitions and conventions to bring fresh and exciting material to all of our students – ages two through adult.

JBSD offers a wide variety of classes including; Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, ACRO, Musical Theatre, Poms and Production groups. All classes, music, costuming etc., are age-appropriate and focus on student growth and development of skill in a bright, fun and family-friendly environment!
